We are proud to provide comprehensive doula care to support you as you welcome your little one. With a combined 22 years of experience in caring for families, our goal is to provide seamless emotional support, physical comfort, advocacy through mediation, as well as the evidence-based information you need to feel empowered to make informed decisions before, during, and after your birth. Doulas provide support for all births, whether medicated, unmedicated, vaginal, or cesarean. We work to get to know you and your goals so we can provide appropriate comfort measures, suggestions, knowledge, and emotional support throughout your pregnancy and labor.
Our model allows you to have one primary doula who has access to our team for additional support. We work to provide continuity of care across our team whether you work just with a birth doula or utilize additional services.

Complimentary consultation with a primary doula to get acquainted and explore if we are a good fit for your birth
2 prenatal meetings which cover birth preferences, hopes, questions, comfort measures, and more
Continuous labor support starting at your home or birthplace until your baby arrives and you are cozy, fed, and settled
24/7 phone and email support
Assistance with preparing for and support during a planned or unplanned cesarean birth
Breastfeeding/chestfeeding and/or bottle feeding support
1-2 in home postpartum visits to check in with you about your birth experience, recovery, breastfeeding/bottle feeding questions and newborn care
A team of doulas ready to step in and assist if back-up is needed

PLANNED CESAREAN BIRTH SUPPORT

At Doula Minnesota we believe that all births deserve doula support, whether you are welcoming your baby in a labor and delivery room or in an OR. The Planned Cesarean Birth Support provides comprehensive prenatal support through postpartum care for those who are intending to have a scheduled belly birth (cesarean). This package specifically includes postpartum doula care in addition to labor support so that you feel able to rest, heal, and focus on recovery in the days after welcoming your little one.
PLANNED CESAREAN BIRTH SUPPORT INCLUDES
Evidence based education and support on newborn care and feeding
Support as you process your birth experience and adjust to your new role as a parent of one or more little ones
CHOICE of 1 daytime postpartum shift (3 hours) + 1 overnight postpartum shift (8 hours) OR 4 daytime postpartum shifts (3 hours each)
Complimentary consultation to get acquainted and explore if Doula Minnesota is a good fit for your birth
1 prenatal meeting to talk through your cesarean birth plan, hopes, questions, comfort measures for the OR, and more
Continuous labor support starting upon check-in at your birthplace until your baby arrives and you are settled in recovery

POSTPARTUM DOULA SUPPORT

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides unbiased and evidence-based physical, emotional, practical and informational support to a family after welcoming a little one. Our postpartum doulas provide care in 3-5 hour daytime shifts or 8-9 hour overnight shifts - providing an opportunity for you to prioritize rest and respite during the pivotal postpartum time.
POSTPARTUM SUPPORT INCLUDES
Evidence based education on newborn care and feeding
Support as you process your birth experience and adjust to your new role as a parent of one or more little ones
Practical help around the house including laundry, dishes, meal prep and light chores
Baby and sibling care to give you an opportunity to take a break or bond with your new little one

PLACENTA ENCAPSULATION

Doula Minnesota offers placenta encapsulation using the Traditional Chinese Method. Our practitioner is trained to handle your placenta with care and will work to return your capsules to you within 24-48 hours after giving birth.

*In an effort to support birthing persons and families we are working to build a support fund for those who are unable to to afford our fee. Payment plans are offered and credit cards, HSAs, and price reduction inquiries are accepted. Everyone deserves the chance to be supported and if Doula Minnesota’s services are not a good fit we will work to find others that are.
